Ulimaroa: I agree the majority forgets,
but even if it reaches only one it's one changed mind.

Personally I do look at what type of eggs I buy.

Also I purchase only meat where the beasts
have been raised within Germany only,
so they dont get to travel days on end.

However, you never know where the animal lived
which contributed to your sliced meat.

On telly last night,
when people in malls
were interviewed they were stunned.
Many said they wernt aware of it
and would in future take note of where feathers came from.

I never knew til yestrday, Donau.

You didnt either, and I am certain
you wont forget... so there is one
extra special person who wont buy.

I must confess I did know where they come from and how you get them-my big mistake is, I didn't make it public so that other people know it too as you just very well did!Its not only that we buy things like that, but we should tell what we know to others to keep them from bying them too.
And Smoky is right-my granddaughter had got one of this featherbeds as a gift when she was small-she had terrible problems for a long time until we found out it was the feathers which gave her the problem to her breathingsystem.

Hoi Uli, I posted that uTube video on the Swiss English Forum - where people talking about buying duvets. They actually mentioning that the best feathers come from Hungary! (and a few other places) I hope that makes them think!

One person there wrote asking if the feathers in her duvet come from little nests of baby geese - the feathers they lose as they grow up ........ She gonna have a nightmare when she watches that video! uh oh

I think my living area is totally free of dust mites! NO INSULATION ... its like a freezer room.

This weekend all the insulation was supposed to be finished .... but along came the other bricklayer - who is also Crimson Elvis - and so the family ended up enjoying an Elvis impersonation at the local ..... and everything else that goes with a drunken revelry evening .... and Elvis staggered off home late Saturday, and everyone else went into hibernation .... and I the only living soul here now .... my dust mites have all died in the cold!

Well, that is the bright side of freezing! I`m stronger, at least, than a dust mite - I`m still alive.drinking

Spent three winters like that, back in the 50s.
Anywhere from 15-25 below Zero Celsius.
Not a sniffle in those winters. Not a day sick.
Ice on the Blanket in the morning.Widow half open all night!laugh
