If the company is english, what about Sir Steven Redgrave, admirining an olympian could be a good answer.

hiya C,

As long as they mean something to you thats all that matters, you will be the one that will have to sit in the interview and explain why you think they had a major impact on Europe.

I would also add Michael O'Leary onto the list. By running a low fair airline he has allowed more people to travel more frequently, which brings alot more cultures together and sort of makes places in Europe alot more accessible. On some occasions its more expensive to get a train to somewhere in Ireland than it is to hop on a plane to some European city.dunno

Couldn't agree more Sinead about Michael O'Leary. If he had set up in Britain, he would have been knighted by now for services to the country. Needless to say the politicians hate him here because he actually knows what he's doing. It's just a pity he's not running the government, the banks and the country. We wouldn't be in this mess now. And had the unions at Aer Lingus here at Shannon not blocked him, their jobs would be safe today.applause

Vladimir Lenin still has impact on europe and other parts of world to this day
otto von bismark :- united germany in to one state without which its doubtful ww1 or 2 would have happened
napoleon bonaparte:- may not have been first choice but he did conquer most of europe and to this day lot of laws he created still exsist in france today

franklin d rosevelt : he was responsible for helping uk in ww2 before usa joined the war without his help britain probally would have been run over
