sweetowen: We all have those certain scents/smells engrained in our minds... the ones that bring back fond memories of times gone by. What are some of yours?
One for me is Musk. My grandmother always wore it & whenever I smell it, I always think of being with Grandma.
Another is bread baking. It reminds me of when my mom would make one of her great meals & have home-baked bread to go along with it.
Musk is Good but it is a ladies pefume,I love perfumes so much and i have a good collection of perfumes I like Reimy Marques ,Dune and Internet
I remember that new car smell from my first new car I purchased back when I was 21 years old. I still can when I close my eyes! Damn I loved that Mustang!!!
Here's one you'll all probably think is odd... I used to love to watch my father clean his guns. There was something about the smell of the cleaner that I liked. I know... weird.
Another one is when my mom used to iron my dad's uniforms with starch. I loved that smell!
And the smell of Pinesol all over the house when Mom was cleaning.

aw bread making mmmm my gran used to bake bread everyday and i used to put 10LB of butter on each slice as it melted.
my grand father used to wear old spice god that smell killed me but when i smell it i remember my grandfather.
I stopped at Starbucks last week and could not pass up the ginger bread warmed with whip cream on top. This was something I would make for my father. He has been gone for a couple of years.
The smell of leather and horses remind me of my deceased middle daughter. Horses were our life.
The smell of bread baking reminds me of when my 3 girls were little. They loved "helping" make bread from scratch. We'd have a great time messing up the kitchen throwing flour around.
The smell of suet pudding and doblolly reminds me of my grandma. She always made it for me when we'd visit. She's been gone more than 30 years and I still miss her.
The smell of clean air, fresh-cut grass, hay, the woods, rain, snow, fresh turned earth remind me that I'm grateful to be alive to smell those things.
the smells of countryside living on a farm and horses (now I am not talking about their deposits). The smell of saddle soap for the bridles and saddles. Beeswax for polishing floors, the smell of an open fire roaring and my mothers cooking.
Walking down a shopping mall and passing by a chocolate chip cookies store and smelling those fresh cookies being baked! How do we resist? Most of us don't!!!

Lilly of the Valley was always my Grandmothers favourite, and just a whiff of it takes me back to happy times spent with her.
How about the smell of the different foods at a street fair? Cotton candy, french fries, burgers, funnel cakes (around here), sausages, mmmmm. Now I'm hungry! LUNCHTIME!!
