Ok, Think I am in trouble, water tank in attic empty I think. Will ring council Tues, even tho houses near had their off til today but I didn't get mine back. Lesson learned, when I see frost, the tap will be left dripping. Thanks guys :)
Think its just pipes, no fire on and no immersion - cold tap turned on so if it does come back it will be dripping. Still will ring council to report it - some coming back from xmas break to find they have no water - at least if council know they will put it on the news like thy did for the city. Hope its back soon - I want my shower in the morning!
Amm friends have same prob - will have to go home to parents to have a shower. but if i hold out til noon maybe it will be back if not home for shower, TG i am off work, worse if i wasn't! Thanks a mil guys, ye are great

Well Im sorry to say if your water tank in your attic is empty, you will have no water to heat so its costing you having it on because the tank in your attic serves your bathroom taps and the toilet and if its empty your supply pipe is frozen
if you arein a two storey house, open the trap door and let the heat up to the attic, or leave the attic light on to keep the temperature just above zero, might bring back your hot water
