rare_dawn: my friend admits that her incessantly' beeping mobile is the cause for frequent argument with her boyfriend. Many times he told her to be considerate.last sunday it was his mom's 62nd birthday and the entire family had come for dinner,her phone kept going off throughout dinner with frantic rings.
they had such a row that night.the next morning he call their relation off.
Is our increasing desire to stay in the loop distracting us from the people who should matter the most in our lives?

He's beyond right; I'd dump her in a second;

She loves the attention of telling everyone "look at me I'm so important, I get all these calls". She's not the president and needs to get over herself.

The guy is totally right; why would you date a woman that is more into herself that the consideration of others? If she's that selfish, then move on. She's a jerk for sure.

It's not my desire; If I'm on a date I do a magical thing. I put it on silent. If it's a family emergency I talk to them but just for regular calls no. I think it's rude to be at a table and then listen to your date ask someone how there day is going.
