OMG. And they call themselves parents!!!!

I would definitely call the authorities.

A parents priority is to protect their children. If they won't do that then somebody else has to.

oh god...i do not agree with leaving kids alone like that at all...but i wouldnt report them either...i would however make it clear to them that what they are doing in my opinion is an absolute disgrace...i mean jesus apart from the danger aspect...do they want their house to be standing when they come back or what??

do they realise that if they do get reported that the kids will be taken into care and the rigmaroll they will have to go thru to get them back will be extreme and they they will be monitored for AGES afterwards....now im not an expert or anything so i may be totally wrong in saying that but its what i imagine would happen

I wouldnt report them cause most 12 year olds would be independant anyway, when my parents left me and me sister alone for a week I thought it was great I could do whatever I likedbanana laugh

ladylumps: I would be telling them that its not on one night is bad enough but 10 days on their own is dreadful. God forbid anything happenend to any of the kids during that time you would feel guilty. And with this weather there is every chance the schools will be closed at least if they were in school there would be some adult supervision and they would notice if something was wrong or if the kids were missing.

Nothing bad would happen, It depends on the kid and if they have their heads screwed on or notthumbs up

navbabe: hey ali

well to be honest hon...if they do piss off and leave the kids then do they deserve to have them??????????

i dont think they do to be honest

Hi El

I do agree they dont deserve them and i can see where everyone is coming from but i was reared to be upfront and honest with people and if they asked P to his face i would be honest with them and tell them i wasnt happy about having anything to do with it.....

and P have they said if anyone else will be watching them for example aunts or uncles????

It doesn't matter how well screwed on their heads are accidents can happen - I know they can happen when an adult is there too but at least they might have a better chance at dealing with them - jmo

You are making a big deal out of it, They are nearly teenagers and it will be a good thing for them to experience a bit of independance

jaw drop

What planet are you on?

Hardly a day goes by that there isn't some story on the news about children being hurt, abused, going missing etc etc. And 12 year olds are children... regardless of how independent or grown up they appear to be.

Unless they actually asked you to move into the house with the kids for the 10 days and care for and look after their kids they ARE being neglectful and BREAKING THE LAW..

You don't teach kids independence by neglecting them.... or by teaching them that a holiday is more important than them.

At 12... the most independence they should have is going to the local shop alone. They should be left alone overnight for even 1 night, let alone 10!!!
