I love Motown, but I couldn´t possibly choose a favourite.

Here is one of them though.

Official Motown, I really liked Junior Walker and the All Stars.

But i really REALLy liked the offshoot from Motown and Tamla in the UK .. the little known tracks that developed a cult following and specialist dance DJ's in the phenomenon that was to become Northern Soul in the working class towns of northern England .. artists like Curtis Mayfield, Erma Franklin, Dobie Grey, Al wilson, The Javells with Nosmo King... i defy you to listen to these and not want to DANCE !

Oh yea...."Dancing In The Street" My all time favorite Motown sound even till this day. I was in Jr. High and we literally danced in the street holding our little AM radios in our ears.

sumrbrz: Living in the Metro Detroit area..the "home" of Motown, and growing up listening to Motown..Diana Ross and the Supremes were always a favorite...and No..Motown will never be "dead" !!

Your right, Motown will never die. At least as long as our generation is alive and still revels in it. It was happy spunky lively sounds.

But when we are all gone, I doubt the younger generation can appreciate the beauty and depth of the music beat and the era and the dances the music started . These younger generations will enjoy the "rap crap" raggedy sound and call that music. These guys can't even sing so they have to mouth nasty words. Now that isn't music. They sound more like people with belly aches as they rap.
