nina200982: ok heres a little thought.......what if a general description and as vague yes are they are....are given for a reason......what if they are still collating eveidence together from witnesses who have come forward or yet to come forward.......the more vague at this point the better....so as not to alter someones perception of what they actaully saw......one person says he was wearing nike...another says addidas but then the first person says oh yeah maybe it was nike......afraid that they might have got it wrong somehow......if 10 people came forward...youcan bet your life that each of those ten will have a slight difference in their stories and descriptions ....which one is correct?????? it takes time to come up with a rough description..hence why we always get such ones as you have described above..its to try and make poeople aware and think of any distuinguishing features they remember about a person......unless of course the cops are standing there waiting for the lads to come out and photograph them......what do youexpeact them to do....think out side the box lads......it is done for a reason......whats with all the gardai bashing this weekend eh

point taken well then why dont they wait till evidence is collated and then release a statement wen they are happy all the descriptions are consistent??

Godsgift: Sorry but I come from a police family and you credit them with too much intelligence. They shouldn't have bothered giving a description at all.

So do you think its better off to say nothing in the news.....2 men dead...end of......no time place nothing....sure how are they ever going to solve it without getting help from the public.....ah now here dont be silly...its to make people remember in that area if they saw anything different.....

lads i dont ye are getting the full story they arrested 4 people today for the murder
but their looking for 2 guys i which a murder happend in finglas a year and half ago but here the full story

Gardaí believe that one of the two men shot dead in a flat in Dublin last night was not the intended target of the gunmen.

The men, aged 46 and 58, were shot in a flat in Pearse House in Dublin city just before 7pm yesterday.

A short time later, gardaí arrested four people in connection with the double murder.

AdvertisementThe three men and a woman are being questioned at Pearse Street, Kevin Street, Kilmainham and Harcourt Terrace garda stations and can be held for up to a week.

The 46-year-old man was visiting the 58-year-old at his flat when gunmen burst in at 6.45pm and shot both of them.

Both men were pronounced dead in hospital within the hour.

The 46-year-old had a small number of criminal convictions and was living in a hostel.

Detectives believe criminal gang members suspected the man was going to kill a major drug dealer in Finglas, in retaliation for another murder there a year-and-a-half ago, and that the gang decided to shoot him first.

The 58-year-old man now appears to have been shot in his own home because he was with him.

Gardaí described the two men who are believed to have been responsible for the Pearse Street shootings as being in their early 20s, of medium build and average height, and wearing something to cover their face.

Gardaí are appealing for anyone with information to contact them at Pearse Street Garda Station on 01-6669000, the Garda Confidential Line 1800-666111 or any garda station.

probably becasue they need to get people thinking first......someone doing something as simple as bringing out their rubbish could provide the key.......maybe he sees something different......whats if noone was out either...pretty cold night......its not a simple as that....10 people mighthave saw 2 lads but it might not have been them at all.....2 could have seen the real ones......they are hardly going to throw out this info for all.....its about getting as much info as possible without making people biased

It's a set line that they issue. It's words but it says nothing like some of the advertising you see on tv like," scientists increasingly believe that...."
