I never seen Shane on the late late, cant stant that ryan turbidy at all.
But it is a real shame that Mcgowan has let himself drift, in the mid 80s he had Ireland on the map all over the world for his genius of music and lyrics.
Even the Dubliners were booking him for gigs in there day to livin up things.
But like many great artists, Elvis, Roy orbison, Phil lynott, Freddy mercury, and many more,,, the drink and drugs took control, it was the drink and drugs that gave them all inpserations to see the music.
And the dubliners didnt mind a good session either.
Shane will come back, maybe not as strong but just as powerful as always.

Judging by the poll so far the ansew is yes,, and as deputy gilmartin said why dont the Irish people rally together and set up some sort of flyer system,, get partitions to start the voting and sent them to a public debate?
Be heard as a voice not seen as a figure, i will start getting signitures tomorrow, but surlel its a concern for others too, or will most just watch and then take the benifits/
It is a nations problem that the nation need to pull together on.

Maybe not the middle classes, but i would hope that this generation do give some support as it is for there futures really, most forget the past and they should too, well we will never forget but we need to try and move forward and try to aproach things differently in future

I see what your saying there, i think people need to forget the name behind the party and follow the people that run them, as you say who would go against mary lou, but we got to remember too that she is what is running the majority of speeches for SF and she is the voice that is getting them noticed more and more each day,, in reality it was the long fella Dev that broke from SF in the first place to set up his own party after jelousy got in his way with things, since then his new party have got the people of Ireland into this mess threwout the years, they became the party of chancers,, SF has never stopped doing what the real members stuck to since it was set up back in the days of Irish support for the folk in the lands of Eire.
They are the ones today that are now been ignord by the people even though they are just break off members from the real Irish government that was set up before Dev got carried away with his own powers as a leader.

I would like to think that some of ye will read my thread on the Irish forums PEOPLE OF IRELAND as im sure ye will find some very good answers there about this kinda thing, after all this thread is about opinions on Gerry himself, not to talk of history, if ye want History go to that forum and learn few things by the people that live in the land, not look in for holidays.

Both you and i know that they are making steadier headway these days threw talks rather than violence, it is a big hill to climb but i cant see how some argueing on here will help any sides cause, it was a question about Gerry that many have blown into personal or historical facts that most are aware of, we have had similar debats on my other thread with who won the war or why the spuds where taken from us,, i just think that few need to chill a little and let the peace talks work in the best favours for those involved.

We will never forget the past, never should do its our history.
But we do have pease talks going on and our first brawl didnt work, so Gerry and the rest are doing the next best thing, using there seats and little power to march on, its the best solution to do for now.

I have read all the posts on here, and i seen some comments on Gerry from some,, but things gone off track a little with the past.
Im only posting to say what others are thinking with all this fighting crap here. moveon let it go, its been dealt with by the top figures who can sit and discuss, not play blame game thats going on here with some posters.

I agree with Kalimera, i recently lost job and the prices dont drop but the bills stay the same and the government dont help you towards them, infact things seem to rise once you become unempleyed for some strange reason

History is history and can never be changed,
violence was tried on both sides and never won any battles,
The northern talks and pease process are the way forward to eventually having a united Ireland, never that there was a divided Ireland in the first place... only on paper it says so,, but not in the hearts of the people.
