They have to have mailed you, then on the mail is an option to reply, flower or block. Simple as that!

Don't think you can stop people responding on a thread but if it is abusive then you can report it to the moderators I guess.

So what.... in theory people are not allowed name and shame on threads. If he is threatening, you can report him! If he is just too keen try not to get to uptight about it. Blocking should be enough.

Or if he's an ex just ignore the post/thread altogether. If he chooses to post, you can choose not to.
