hi everybody,

can anybody please tell me if this wwoofing really does exist?

I came across it studying Australien sites, looking for a way to stay longer than 3 month in your Country. So i found Wwoofing. Apparently you stay on a Farm somewhere in the outback or whereever and work there as a helping Hand. You get a Bed and your Meals and 178$ per week.

so, i would like to know if someone heard about that and is able to tell me if this is all true and what are the chances that myself and a friend (also female) could have, considering that we are no spring chickens anymore ( i m 47, she is 38) might have.

Any Information would be mostly apreciated
Thank you

Age limit?!!! Isn't that illegal or discriminatory. That sounds pre 70's policy.I can't see how that still exists. If you can demonstrate the ability to perform whatever the job requirement is....even for visa issues.confused

well, it said on the german sites, that as long you can show them that you have at least 1000$ for each staying month , just incase something happens you dont need a working visa.
Checking out the job offers on that link was depressing as most jobs where way back from 2009.
i supose i have to keep searching for a solution.blues

Mate you should know how our federal government operates ( then again does anybody). I do totally agree with you & what you said in your post, but I seem to recall they set a minimum age requirement for short term working visas, but strangely this doesnt seem to apply to back packers dunno

backpackers visum is also from age 18-30 and you get the visa for 12 month.

everytime i been to Australia i also have a 12 month visa.....but because of my age i m not allowed to work... not even as a backpacker. (I m a trained Chef, but i doubt i can work as one)

seems unfair, as i m now at an age where i could travel the world , without money worrys but cant do so because i have to leave the country, every 3 month, i would love to conquer sigh

I think we should all retire then at 30 if it's deemed too old to to work overseas.

I knew there was an age limit but I have never worked abroad so it's never been an issue for me but why limit the age when you are very much capable of working until you are much older than 40? I don't get it.
