I was just wondering what beer do you all prefer a top fermented beer such as Ale or a bottom fermented brew such as Lager? I myself will drink both but some prefer one to the other. It just seems to me that Ale packs more punch then a German Style Lager except if maybe you throw the Doppelbock into the equation.

Another thing what brands do you all like the best?

Well ale for starters is not as strong as german larger or beer. You should try Old Rosie a cider or Thatchers, some ciders brewed in the UK will blow your socks clean off and your personality completely transformed!grin

I'm more of a friend of the bottom fermented beer. In Germany they call it "Pils", slightly bitter and tangy in taste. Sometimes I drink strong beer. In contrast to 3.8% to 4.5% alcohol in Pils, strong beer has more than 7% alcohol. There are also beers that have 12% to 17% alcohol. When you make a party with strong beer, it is over quickly ;-).
