Lovely Bones was intriguing movie. I was concerned about my teenager watching it, so I watched it before we all sat together.
It addressed the issue of predators and their actions in a delicate way, no gory scenes etc, just gave a hint without the visuals.
Its not normally my kind of movie, not a big fan of Peter Jackson, yet somehow it kinda got under my skin...thought the subject was very well depicted........

From what I've read, a lot of the reviews centre on 2 things, the book, and Peter Jackson's previous movies.

I'm not much of a novel person - I usually only read technical stuff - so I can't compare the movie to the book, but a definite thumbs up for me, I enjoyed it.

wave By all accounts the movie is very different than the book, friends who have read the book, have said that the movie tells the story in a more delicate way than the book dunno

Well I found that the movie DID handle the subject quite delicately, which was nice, yet at the same time leave you in no doubt as to the intentions and behaviour of the predator.

I'm more of a sci-fi/horror/action person, so for a movie like this to grab me, that's prob saying something good about it.

I wasn't too hot on the heaven sequences, but then again, I'm not personally into the happy stuff.

I was at the premiere of it a few weeks back. Thought it was an excellent film. best I'd seen in a while. Don't believe the reviews, dunno where they get them from. It was a class film. IMO of courseireland
