oxfordenglish: You see that could be a valid reason for a date not going well if YOU didn't have a drink. You would be nervous and stuff like you said. But if the other person is a non drinker they are probably confident and would not be nervous?

Also non drinkers still socialise in pubs. My friends and me are always in the pub and my mate who doesn't drink just has 7up. He is the best craic out of us all. You are making all non drinkers out to be boring and sort of wall flowers in that statement I think?
very true my sis is the same cant drink because of a medical condition but she don't miss what she never had and she is a good laugh, to be honest i think ANYONE who needs drink to talk may have a problem

As was said, fair play to non-drinkers who can have the craic and relax. I think the point was in some situations with some people, a drink can calm jitters on a first date. Its not a judgement either way. First dates can cause nervousness. Good for anyone that can relax straight away.

Yes. I love a drink but I think it's sad the way a lot of people automatically think someone is boring because they don't drink.dunno
Some people can't drink for medical or health reason and some just don't want to drink. Doesn't make them bad company or boring though.

I agree but why would that stop you dating a non drinker? confused Just because they don't have a drink does not mean you can't have one.

Of course not, its a choice and personal preference like any other. I was referring to a previous poster on why SOME feel more comfortable. Its no biggy either way.....whatever a person is comfortable with is where they will gravitate.

I think it started when a posters reason for a date not going well was the other person was a non drinker. I just thought it was a strange reason. Just because they are not a drinker does not mean they are boring. laugh It would be like saying the person was vegaterain so the date did not go well.rolling on the floor laughing

fair point. Actually now that i think about it the guy involved with my experience did most of his threatening when he was drunk. he wouldn't leave my house, my friend had to come and get him out. it was really scary
