Usually the people that like to kick other people while they are down do so because it somehow seems to elevate their own self-esteem. It makes them feel that they are not the only ones who have had failures in life or skeletons in their closets.

I'll never forget a line in "Starman" that Jeff Bridges said when he was being surrounded in the coffee shop and he told the
