Just heard what sounded like gun shots? I live in a small town, so that sound is not familiar. Might have been firecrackers. How about your neighbourhood? How safe do you feel?

(giggles) I never lock my doors. I'm not even sure where my house keys are. windows are open all the time from now till September. I can skinny dip all day in front of my house. No one would ever know the difference. Yup, I feel safe.

I live in a very quiet suberb and feel quite safe.
I lock my doors even during the day. We do get theft. You know you are out back gardening and someone comes in the front and steals your purse. That hasn't happened to me personally, but I do read about it. I was wondering about how it is in neighbourhoods that do have a lot of crime. Some people can't afford to move.

Well, Canada is a relatively safe place, but boy we have had some horrible serial killers, rapists, child killers etc etc. People might think living in the city is unsafe and move to countryside only to find it is not as safe as they thought.

Yes, I am the type of person who thinks, "what if I do this, what would happen or what if I do that, what would happen." Drive myself crazy sometimes. Other times I just blunder in, and then kick myself.

I feel 100% safe, my neighbors and I, the coyotes, lizards, scorpions, tarantulas, rattlesnakes, bobcats, and mountain lions have an agreement. they leave me alone and I don't shoot them.

With you around I would feel safe. As an fox I would run for cover. Do you see mountain lions and bobcats often?

I occasionally catch a glimpse of a bobcat, usually it's the tail end running away, they are very quick and illusive as are mountain lions, there is a cougar (not the human version) that crosses through my yard occasionally but all I ever see is the huge paw prints in the mud after a rain storm...

I think you just described about 90% of us, at least at times.
