I don’t know what stupid thought I had in mind when I decided to apply for a job in Greece. crying
This people are crazy, nothing works, no one is reliable, the bills came with mistakes, and the prices vary according our face.
I don’t go back just right now because my daughter needs to finish the secondary education and she is well integrated at school but I feel miserable and I want that this year will pass very quickly, my contract will end and I will go back home again.

Perhaps you can do something for yourself from a skill you have. Pastries, sewing, crafts, I don't know, but anything to vend for any amount you can receive would be a great help for someone. Maybe they can't pay you with money, but are able to assist you with something to help your life, just has you help them with theirs. hug

You ought to see what it is like when you suffer injuries that put you out of work for more then a year. Here in America most people imagine that federal, and state programs help people in situations like that. Little do they know is that you are required to sell everything thing you own, every piece of property, before they will even look at the doctors report. Has with your problems in Greece, and those of people around the world, it is of government, state controls, that has put us in this situation. It is up to us to personally act, and defeat the elitist population of these world governments, and associations of support. We do it be working with, for each other, of what we have, of what we can do, and do not give them anything in return. We, some, might lose their lives in this process, but it will be of an action to save the lives of many. angel

I'm Greek but yes, I'd expect that Greece is not easy to get used to. People can be very intense/rude. Bureaucracy is too much. Anyway, it's to your best interest to be smart about it and do your best, be it going to islands now in the summer, trying the local cuisine (if you like it), or making a few friends if that's possible. Wish you best of luck hug

I would like to tend to think like you but not here.
Can you imagine that even lawyers make strikes over here… pharmacies, electricity offices and taxi drivers… everybody, and the coffees and restaurants are full of people. It is amasing!

yes, it is the best thing to do, try to escape but is not a solution.
of course there are good people but the majority is not good. Just to let you know I scrached the door of my car and went to the Opel services. Before saying anything the guy ask to see my insurance... after he told me that I would need a new door. I'm not stupid, I know that it is not the case... what more can I say... just look for a more honest one, but come on... it was the recognised garage!

It is like I am trying to do here, with people of similar thoughts, similar conditions. It is not easy but we are attempting to limit any association with businesses that take it upon themselves to punish certain proportions of society for their own interests. Somethings we need to buy, but we purchase, but we limit that, and share of what we have, what we can with each other. Kind of like "shaking the dust off, and walking away" walking right by them without even acknowleding their existance. It needs to be a united effort of example, and those greedy people either will join, or they will starve. THAT INCLUDES THEIR LEADERS, and it does not even require a weapon, has that weapon is the people united. It takes time, but we all can do this.teddybear

Sounds awful. For said situation show up with a greek friend and it's gonna go much smoother. Or do the arguing/screaming that we greeks are so much used to, in order to resolve anything. People of mild demeanor are usually taken for fools and only the aggressive ones are respected.
