i did it once (gave a guy my number)very long time ago when i was a cheeky teenager,seen him working at a local pub went up and gave him my number on a bit of paper...

I once tried this guys approach in the library in UCD. It was in the run up to exams last year so everybody was there in the same seats most days studying. This blonde girl was sitting across from me and she was ridiculously cute, butterflies in the tummy cute.
So the last day studying before my final exam I decided to chance my arm and left a note saying that I thought she was really pretty and had made studying a little easier. I then left a number and said text me....never heard from her though

Gosh it its funny where you can chatted up these days. I was on the Chemist picking up a prescription for my mam.. Anyway long que.. and a guy there started talking to me .. started off polite .. weather .. his job.... general stuff anyhow still waiting on prescription chatted more .. ...
as I was leaving he got paper and pen from Pharmist and followed me out the door and gave me his name and number..
he also told me he knew the owner of Pharmist and she could vouch for him...
In fairness its nice confidence boost.. lol.. although I cant say wherether Id personally have the never to text him.. was nice though :)

When I finish my shopping and go back to my car there is a note on the drivers seat saying "Text Me" with the phone number. I personally LOVE that forward approach... Anyway, is there a way to know which one of us the note was for? I say it's for who ever's seat it was on!!!

Go for it, when you text him make sure it's in such a way that it's clear it's from you and not the 15 year old, that way if he doesn't reply you know it wasn't for you, that should solve the uncertainty.
Nobody could blame you for assuming it was meant for you!
