Hi, Welcome to da funny farm fellow Noo Yawka. 
Seriously though...Welcome to the forums and you're right no one should go to a NY comedy show alone...You'll end up the main course for the comedian that night. Not a good thing. There's a few of us NYers hanging around here...Have fun and enjoy yourself, there's a lot of great people here. Best wishes and good luck.
Oh BTW You may want to skip comedy night and just stay here in the forums...99% of the time the comedy around here can't be beat by what's outside
