Hello everybody,

I have recently found myself single and spending the majority of my time alone. I find plenty of things to do that fill my time but most are menial or ultimately unfulfilling.

So what does everyone do to keep themselves going? How do you socialise when you are on your own?

Please post any advice or just let me know what makes you feel happy throughout your day.

Thank you all in advance

Jayyay

That is what I am missing. I have a little boy of 15 months old and he is my whole world. I love him dearly but being a babysitter while his mum goes out isn't making my life complete to say the least. I'm forgetting how to laugh like an adult. I don't want to sound all full of doom cos ultimately i'm an optimist, just an optimist thats reached the bottom of the glass and is looking for a top-up cheers Thanks for posting

Hi there, yep I have plenty of things that I do to occupy myself but these really are just time fillers. I guess what I was really asking is, how do you get out there and socialise with other people when you are on your own? I'm not terribly lacking in confidence but I feel like a freak being out in social situations on my own!

Thanks for your post cheers

Very very rarely and no single friends at all. I have to confess, I was one of those fools that became all consumed with my relationship and became detached from friends and family. Oh sweet regret!!

I'd think it was a great time to catch up on those long lost folks I'd been neglecting then maybe ... and I'd also meet some new ones - perhaps through volunteering in a local charity shop that helps the starving in the third world .. putting all that empty time to good use .. the fact is the world is so screwed up that we really don't have time for empty moments ..

I'd also readjust my thinking about being a babysitter .. you're not a babysitter .. you're the lads father .. his only father .. and he needs you.

I wish you well ..

Hi & cswelcome Jay.

I have been single for ( god that long i've forgotten blushing ) but several years.

I entertain myself ( in my free time ) by travelling to different places. In the last 10 or so years i've visited 32 different countries & i'm no millionaire. Usually Ryanair or Easyjet carry me there. Not everyone's coffee i know but how do you feel about a little travel. dunno

I think he meant what keeps you busy during your waking hours, not whilst you were trying to get to sleep rolling on the floor laughing
