Women accounted for more than half of the increase.

The unadjusted figure showed that there were 466,800 people signing on, an increase of almost 14,000 from June.

The CSO said the unemployment rate rose to 13.7%, from 13.4%, in June.

The data also shows that the largest number of people signing on were professionals, who made up more than a fifth.

So whats going on now..are these bank employee's??
when will it end? Will next year be the bomb like the Govt say?
Am seriously thinking of getting a visa to Canada or somewhere just to have..I dont wanna end working in the same job(If I was that Lucky) for the next 5 years getting progressively poorer.

I wish the EU or even better the IMF would take over this country lock, stock and barrel, get everything over and done with, the cuts will be brutal but they are necessary.

The reality is the Ireland will default on its debts and we will go bankrupt at the current rate.

The Banks along with there political friends but most importantly the Higher Civil Service have screwed each and every person in this country.

Perhaps it may take peoplepower to remove them and put in some decent politicians that are honest brutal with the medicine not just for the commoner that will get us out of this mess.

I couldnt agree more i recently went to see the Insiders with David McWilliams and most of the people in charge of NAMA are the same people that brought us to the brink or perhaps will yet.

There may be blood yet on our streets because Oil is incresing, Russia has had a crop failure which means dearer food, interest rates are rising, Taxes are set to rise,Cuts even deeper than expected and perhaps faster and wages going down.

I am normally a optimistic person but the light at the end of the Tunnell i think may be an exprees train.
