davpk10: this couple on TV are just a normal middle income family....they spend 8 grand a year at least on this...
make-up...heels...hair extentions...the works.... do you think they do this for themselves or do the kids really enjoy it...
my opinion is they do it for themselves the kids dont know any better thats the way they have been raised its not an informed choice for them I believe that kids should be allowed to be kids for as long as possible they are a long time adults

My daughter did it when she was young,it was her choice not mine so i supported her.A lot of her friends did it to,i don't think it is a bad thing, unless its not some thing the child wants.I don't feel any parent should force it on a child because its there dream and not the childs. You shouldn't go over board with it either as some do,teach the child that there beautiful in there own way,if they don't win doesn't mean there a loser. After all there can only be one winner.

That's how I feel pretty much as well....
funny they put make-up on them so they look older ...then when they get older they put make-up on to look younger...
I've seen one episode of this show called "Toddlers and Tieras"..I think that's the name..anyways..it just broke my heart. These parents dressing their children up in fake hair and nails..getting veneers on their teeth..dressing them provocatively..letting them dance provocativley..terrible. On this show..the one mother had two girls..both were very cute but one was more of a "pageant" kinda girl..the mother would belittle the one who didn't do as well and tell her to be more like her sister..the look on the little girls face was devastating..

this woman gets pyhsically ill if her daughter loses....she is on the other end of the spectrum I would think.....
But 8 grand a year for a middle income family seems way over the top to me...

when my girls got to the age of 12 they started to look like alice cooper on acid with the amount of make up they wore

Veritaas: There is something very strange and quite odd, that a parent would want to doll their children up the way they do in them.
I think if you keep it un wraps it is find....
But the problem lays (IMO) as a few will make it impossible for some to compete on an even keel ...so the ones that spend tend to win ....I would think...

davpk10: Yes early teens trying make-up for the first few times is funny....but you dare not say anything tho ....
I remember walking by my daughter as she had just attempted her first fake tan and said.."the future bright...the futures ORANGE" she didnt speak to me for a month
