Well when you realize it is now October, Christmas is just around the corner, what does Christmas mean to you, bug family day, or do you go to church and what are your thoughts on Christmas.

Well for me it is a 'bug'day with family laugh I honestly can never get my head around the whole hot BBQ with everyone sweating and cursing.

But I do love the chance for us all to be together in one place at one time ... I love seeing the kiddies, and I love finding the ultimate present for each of the family members. My bestie g/friend and I always make each others presents, and thats loads of fun, to see what we are able to produce grin

I go to church over Christmas, and serve at Midnight Mass on Christmas Eve, and then again on Christmas morning. If Im lucky Short will serve with me heart wings and that is what makes Christmas for me.

Think Christmas is over-commercialised and over-rated. blues

Too much food and drink and too hot for too much food and drink.

Think Xmas lost its shine for me when the kids stopped believing in Santa and the shops start putting the Chrissy stuff on the shelves in September. cold christmas sad

I am hoping one year to find a desert island where no one mentions the dreaded C word, no tinsel and holly, no Bing Crosby singing Bloody White Christmas - and I will be there with bells on dancing

Christmas day is my favourite day of the year. We have a massive family day. I start with my boys at home and then go to my sisters. We then all go to our Mum's for lunch where everyone does something and supplies something so that it's not left to just 1 or 2 people. In the afternoon we go to our Uncle and Aunty's place where we go swimming and we are usually out there until nearly midnight. I wasn't there one year and my Aunty told me that I'm never allowed to be away again. Our day is simply family based and I wouldn't have it any other way. yay

I can not imgine it any other way. The year I was away, I really missed it because the people we were with just don't celebrate it with family like we do. They even bought a Christmas tree because we were coming. I must say that I was impressed with their effort. They really did try hard considering it wasn't something they normally did. grin

It’s a good holiday! One of my ten favourite public holidays here in the west, pity I will have to work the public holidays this year as I am rostered on for both days at double time and a half, for 19 hours, my rdo is on Wednesday,

As for religion? Really you don’t want me to get started on the greatest lie ever tolled! I can handle the fat guy in the red suit one! Of even the Easter bunny! As they are for the kids!

The family get together on boxing day, as that’s mums birthday, a very interesting day indeed! With the five of us kids/adults pulling the piss out of each other and our kids? Its like the comedy festival without paying? I really enjoy my dysfunctional family get togethers!
