The answer is stop being a mug! There are plenty of web sites that will find you a better deal, I don’t pay line rentals! I pay $70 per month for high speed internet more than 50gb at no extra cost for going over limit just slowdown in speed, as yet the kid and I have not used what we are allowed.
Yes Telstra did try it on me! Bad move! They quoted $50 to transfer my connection, they then tried to charge me $450.00 for a technician? At the time I was on a $110.00 per month deal, that was due to end, iinet was offering the $70 deal free line rental and a new phone, with wireless connection?
Long story made short! My contract with Telstra ends in October, that’s when I will shop around again for a better deal! I am getting sick of companies taking people for granted!

Its in their consumers rights legislation, over here a shop cannot refuse a full refund, or if they over charge you at the till, they have to give you the item for free plus your money back, its like a reverse shoplifting policy? You walk into their shop and they try to rob you? You can actually press charges and take the store to court! Its in our rights to get what we paid for, and demand a full refund if an item doesn’t do what the store said it will do?
Not sure how it will work out but I better get my discount! I signed a contract. Its their fault if they didn’t process the paper work! Isn’t there a ACCC policy that if they overcharge you? You get the item for free?
Not allowed holidays! I am on workers comp/ restricted duties? Not allowed to stand or walk for more than ten minutes, plus two drivers are on holiday and one driver is still stuck in Melbourne? His flight was cancelled, he was supposed to be at work today?
Monday went to the doctors and surgeons, ended up with a $100 parking ticket? Surgeon refuses to operate now? Due to the insurance companies legal questions? Wednesday get home early all good, then a loud bang? Glass sliding door explodes and starts making loud cracking sounds, $200 minimum claim cost? Today finally get a message from the people that are doing the credit for the solar panels! Apparently the guy that did the paperwork got it wrong and the application didn’t go through?
I am very selective with friends! But I too have make mistakes, my mates were always working always doing better than me? A few years ago now I changed my ways a little bit, and started landing the jobs I wanted to do! Now that I am not the guy that struggles as they now do? I have now become the outcast? No I am not rich or anything, and I always share what I have, like a mate broke his car and I let him drive my car to work for weeks? I worked nights at the time so I didn’t need the car during the day,
Another thought? My sister and her husband also own their own home, I once looked after their home while they went for a trip around Australia, but they would stop at towns that needed people to work, which payed for their accommodation and fuel while they got too look around, it’s a working holiday, the money I paid rent payed their bills here plus I looked after their home till they got back, and their dog! Retirement is not an end to being useful! Its just something different to do!
I am planning to do what they would have done! On any day off that they would have got, have a beer and remember those that have gone before us, its not a celebration it’s a time to remember the loss and the great courage displayed for years of our service men and women!

Rob that would be the new money policy we have with china! Instead of trading in US$ we now trade in Aussie$ without paying the money changers?
