You can't ask for gifts back. They become the property of the recipient. The engagement ring as I said earlier represents an unfulfilled contract and must be returned! It was given on expectation of marriage. Wedding rings are not returned as the contract was fullfilled!conversing

Hey judge judy, ill give it back when he refunds me the money for that holiday from hell i had with him last year which I paid for!

laugh But as i said before he didnt ask for it back so i wasnt going to offer either,it's of no sentimental value to me nor would it be worth anything now so it can stay buried in the bottom of my jewellery box!grin

Onwards and upwards!...dancing

I've never been in that situation but if I was I wouldn't ask her to give it back,if she wanted to give it back no big deal just like if she wanted to keep it so be it.If I got it back I'd just sell it anyways and i wouldn't give it to the next girl,s no big deal either way.....

Really.....blues

What is the deal with wedding rings? Just out of em... general interest! I am separated 6 years now and still wear my engagement ring.It doesn't look like an engagement ring I think. I didn't wear it for first couple of years as it felt too emotional. He has my wedding ring.

Is that strange....blues

I don't really know why people both men and women want to hold onto engagement or wedding rings when things break down and you both go your separate ways as it would be a reminder of what happen the whole time. I can understand when one becomes a widow holding onto the rings then but not when you both break up. confused confused

I just like the ring. And after the initial period of mourning the breakdown of the marriage, I just saw it as a ring that was part of a significant time in my life. Not bad memories....

I have only been in one serious relationship since and he didn't mind me wearing it. If he had minded I wouldn't have. So that issue might arise in the future of course(if anyone will ever put up with me again!!) But other than that it is fine....

Ah most guys shouldn't have a problem with the girl wearing a old wedding ring,I know I wouldn't have any problems with it,once she replaced it with a new one if i popped the question to her rolling on the floor laughing Ah I'm sure a stunning lady like yourself won't have any problems that way.dancing

Just to be clear... I AM NOT STILL WEARING MY WEDDING RING!!! I'm sad, but not that sad! It is a subtle ring with a line of discreet diamonds set into a gold band! Was the ENGAGEMENT ring!

But getting back to the stunning comments there...cool Would ya do me a reference?!grin
