robpacciani: Now Now.. what did you say to me about people entitled to their opinions yesterday???

By the way, Sinn Fein are scum and Gerry Adams has blood on his hands

LadyinDublin: how exactly does he?? and yesterday noone was coming out with rubbish

According to the late Brendan Huges...Gerry set a 'cell' called 'The unknown's', who executed and secretly burried people..

He (Gerry Adam's)..involved in the planning of Bloody Friday...

Probably helped in prolonging the 1981 hunger strike...

And was a member of PIRA....(You want to believe the bearded on..Be my guest. The thought police don't cloud my judgement).

Chances are SF will get enough votes to hold balance of power. Like several posters have said..To give a kick in the ball's to FG & FF...

Could Ireland end up with a Labor/Sinn Fein/Left independents government after the upcoming election?

That may not be as farfetched as once was the case.

The combined left vote in last Friday's Irish Sun opinion poll was 40 per cent, 24 per cent for Labor, 16 per cent for Sinn Fein.

There was also a massive 11 per cent vote for independents, most of whom will be left- leaning.

If you do the math it gets awfully close....

the maths doesn`t quite work out that way allowing for a 10% swing due to local issues in most country constituencies.... but ah a dream if true...handshake ireland

GalwayGuy35: Seems like a lot of people are thinking of voting Sinn Fein in the next election as a way of hitting back at the Government. Not sure if this is a good idea though as no more than Labour they shout the odds but have no real policies.

What a wonderful waste of a vote......Sinn Fein haven't got a clue and even less of a clue about economics, finance, law.............. Don't waste your vote

puggle: i just feel(have for some time now) that the whole thing needs a complete new twist... the whole euro/eu thing is going to cripple us for yrs to come... plus the policies of getting out and controlling our own fisheries, our own mineral/oil/gas resources, our own punt back and de-valuing inline with the pound is possibly only hope for us? a complete u-turn might just be the ticket? summit drastic has to be done..imo..but respect yours too.(former ff voter here)

I agree, we need to NAtionalise our resourses, Corrib gas, dalkey oil field, everything.... We need to move away from Civil war politics and start new parties with much lower pay and return to it being an honour to serve your country instead of the self serving pricks( for the better part) we have now..... We dont differ too much.... just I dont feel the shinners/extreme left have the answers either

Euro's a great idea for mainland europe, 80%++++ of our exports is with the UK & USA so yeah i agree... OUR BALLLESS GOVERNMENT could have used the threat of collapsing it to get a better deal, but were too busy brown nosing the powers that be in europe..... Without ALL the european countries involved in the euro its doomed to failure eventually... We should have defaulted and dealt with the fallout rather than taking on the bank debt..... NOT too long ago we hung people for treason.... our politicians should be thankfull that we no longer do

The donegal sinn fein bloke comes across as a good man who I believe will do his best for his constituents. Unfortunately the party name is associated in most peoples minds with the IRA and the atrocities they carried out, the murder of innocent people, bombings, organised crime, protection rackets, bank robberies, with the image they have I will not be voting for sinn fein IRA and I don't know anyone who would vote sinn fein IRA.

Puggle you'll be very disappointed with FG and Labour when they won't renegotiate the EU/IMF bailout when they get into government.

There is no such Party As Sinn Fein IRA.

There is however a Party named Sinn Fein.

Off the subject a little but ..Example 1400 innocent people were murdered in Gaza two years ago. At least 500 of those were children. It didn't tarnish GWB or Barack Obamas standing. For the past 65 years American Presidents have presided over the murder of millions of people. Just saying

I know the USA government are responsible for the deaths of countless people over the years and I totally disagree with their foreign policy regarding the middle east and Israel but by the same reckoning I see sinn fein and the IRA being the one organisation, ballot box in one hand and an armalite in the other and as such are responsible for the murder of innocents, bullying decent people and terrorist activites among other crimes carried out so I wouldn't vote for them to represent me in dail Eireann. Just my opinion and I am sure there are others who think differently,, everyone to their own.

Didn't mention British Foreign Policy Re Northern Ireland on purpose but I would be interestd in your views on that.
