On other dating sites where the options are to send a wink or an email (I don't mean this site because there are lots of wink options here), I've read so many comments from women moaning about receiving winks. On another of the free sites, many women put in their profile comments such as, "Winks get you automatically disqualified". Well HOW DARE they be that way! Why aren't they grateful and flattered that anyone would want to wink at them in the first place? What makes them so special that they can poo poo any guy who winks at them, as if they aren't worth anything?

What I often do is go through a load of people I like the look of, and send winks. The reason I do that is because then they know I'm interested, so can either wink back or write properly. If I was to write messages to everyone I was interested in, it would take hours, and then I'd be likely to receive zero responses, not even a 'no thanks' (yes I know that from experience, I'm not just assuming!).

Well that's my moan over with. laugh It just bugs me that's all, that SOME women on these sites think they are so much better than everyone else, and think that all guys owe them something and should struggle to even get a 'hello' out of them, as if they're more important.

I hope this doesn't make anyone too angry! I know that not all women are like it, I'm just moaning at ones who are. wave

i completely agree with you, it is nice to get winks and flowers etc and a polite thank you is all that is necessary in return, just manners if nothing else.if i was interested then i would send an email of thanks and a bit of encouragement blushing

dont stop sending them though cos the ignorant few are not worth bothering with anyway and you may missout on someone really nice, afterall on this site it doesnt cost anything except a few mins of your time

Hi R. wave

Winks on this site are better though because there's a decent choice of what to send people, plus you can write your own small message too. So I think this site is different from most in that respect.

I wonder if it is just the ignorant few who don't like winks? I've seen it said many times before.

really? well i cant explain that, although i have added awarning to my profile that anyoffesive, abusive or "rude" messages will be posted on the forum named and shamed, but i cant see the harm in sending winks unless the message is one of the above.. oh well it takes all kinds i supposedunno

Zedbra if u read a lot of the womens profiles they state that they would actually like you to say something rather than just send a wink, or one of the templates, i guess they automaticaly presume you dont have much to saywink

I know that's what they say, and that's exactly what I'm complaining about. For them to assume you have nothing to say is crazy. Why should I spend hours writing loads of messages when barely and of them can be bothered to write back to me?

yep i know wot your saying, but ther is the attraction side of things aswell, maybe they dont like your looks and please dont take that the wrong way, thats why some profiles say dont bother contacting unless u have a picture

You're totally missing my point. I DO have several photos of myself on all dating sites I belong to. Yes I'm aware they may not like my looks - I expect that. That's nothing to do with this though. You say that you know what I'm saying but I don't think you have a clue mate.

i didnt mean or intend to offend u in any way zedbra, u say i dont have a clue wot your onabout, but if your sending winks out and getting no response, then maybe its cause they dont find you attractive, Im not saying your an ugly bloke or anything, cause even if they didnt find you attractive they could at least reply yes i know, but i guess those that dont are just ignorant.

Too right - Although that isn't what this is about. I think you've already grasped that yourself but I'm trying to get Stu to see it too. :)
