This is my first thread so be gentle with me. Only been here for a few weeks but thought i had made some good friends, talked every day, good craic etc. Feeling really low tonight so needed them to cheer me up. They r online but not replying to my msg (not hassling them, only 1 msg each asking did they want to talk). Is there anyway of knowing who is sincere, or is it just the luck of the draw?

Its not luck, its trial and error. But believe me there are plenty of good friends to be made here. Some truly remarkable and wonderful people to be met. Including herself above me!

Maybe they have just left their comp on and have not got message
Either way there are no hard and fast rules really. It can be more difficult in this medium to suss out who is more genuine than others.

Friends online...don't have any real close friends so this has been my lifeline lately
There are friends and friends. Having a bit of craic with someone doesn't mean they will necessarily be able to help when you're really down. We all have different experiences. Some people are good at 'talking' some aren't. It doesn't make anyone good or bad. But plenty of good listeners here and people you can talk to. I hope it's not too serious and here's a virtual hug for you.

To be honest you can be disappointed by people on here sometimes too, just like real life. Stick with it and it'll work out though!
