I've got a little girl that has asthma and is in and out of the hospital this time of year, so it's NOT normal for me to sleep more than 2-3 hours uninterrupted most nights because of breathing treatments and such.

However, normally I sleep around 7-8 hrs. at night, which is what people should get.

Google "sleep deprivation" and see all the interesting information that researchers talk about when a person chronically doesn't sleep enough and what happens to the human body when it is continuously sleep deprived...interesting stuff..wink

I haven't had more than an hour or two of undisturbed sleep at a time in more than 18 years. I usually spend 8 hours in bed every night fighting just to get a total of 3 hours of sleep.

In my younger years my internal clock would occasionally get out of sync and I'd be awake for about 72 hours straight. Even now, on a fairly regular basis, I am awake for 24 to 36 hours at a time, especially if I have a project to keep me engrossed.

One of my silly little dreams is to experience a full 8 hours of undisturbed sleep.

I usually go through times where I only get about 4 or 5 hours sleep several times a year. If it goes on too long I start to get joint pain and have trouble focusing on things like driving a car.

I have not caused any accidents yet but I have taken naps at a friends house before I headed home so I would not get in an accident. Some of us would love to be able to get a regulat 8 hours sleep.
