whats the big fuss over anyway?
It doesn`t matter who is in power nothing worthy will change
The only thing that will change is the name of the political party in government

thumbs up

People are talking about an election not about the mess the country is. Nothing will change .....it keeps people from talking about the reason behind the world finace crash. Its got f all to do with one Man...its a world wide problem and Ireland is small potatoes in the big scheme of thingscheers

The guy is unreal. He just doesnt know when to call it quits. I think as the week goes on we will get a better idea what is going to happen.

zackeriagh: Anyone got any ideas how to get the country back working?. There is an opening I believe for demolition of all the surplus houses that were built on false economy

i wouldn't knock the houses, we own most of them now anyway as there in nama so why not just clear housing waiting lists it would be better than leaving them to fall into ruin, and they would be bringing in some income, there are people waiting years to be housed and all these empty houses available

Because why should somebody who never worked and lived on social welfare most of their lifes be given a house that 3 years ago was worth a fortune, Most on housing lists are this type, no interest in working whatsoever

Ah Jimbo, you expect "them" to have social conscience. They will want to stabalise house prices by controling supply and demand again!

So they will demolish enough to leave us slightly short of what we need and thus stabalise the market. They have no interest in anything that is not financially controllable like people sleeping in the streets!conversing

i agree with you on that, i would have a major problem with people who never bothered working getting a house, but there are plenty of people who are working and paying big rents to greedy landlords, it would be better for the state to recieve it

hate to say it but the irish political situation is read as a farce over here why dont he go once and for all and call an immediate election is the state of the economy in such a bad way due to his leadership that he needs the bail out as a smokescreen to whoever takes over
