Well lucky for me I had parents that encouraged me to question everything, even if it ment questioning them. When your interested in truth it doesnt matter when things are biased. I am very lucky that I was given the chance to move to aus so that I can do uni here. Its a chance to broadin my knowledge.cheers

awesome! my respect for you and your parents. i like to learn. who knows i will also move to australia and go back school again. actually my elder brother lives in melbourne. anyway, education is the best thing one can have. i have no problem with people who don't know but i certainly have issues with people who think they know everything and don't have the least inclination or desire to learn.cheers bouquet

I think we might be on the same page when it comes to how important education is.

absolutely..u know nette nothing really aggrevates me more than watching a person being arrogant because they think they know it all. in fact, i have seen a number of arrgant people like that right here on CS. i see them and i just laugh. then i tell myself how shallow person you really are because in this big big universe your knowledge is not even as much as a drop of water in an oceandoh laugh

I agree, I have also noticed that many educated people use their knowledge for negitive. Instead of using it to help others they put them down. I recently heard a saying and I really like it. Its "If you think your to important to help someone, you are only fooling yourself. Your not that important." I find this relavant in many situations.

Nette, you are right on with your view on education. My elderly aunt who never went on to get a formal education beyond high school gave me son some pearls of wisdom. She told him the following, "Get an education or you will be dirt under someone's feet someday." And she did not mean any old education either. She meant to study in a field where you can either be in business for yourself or take your knowledge, add on to it or find a field where you can make a living and support yourself.

To have no education at all, there is a chance that you will be taken advantage of in life and that leads to all types of problems that go with a person's sense of self esteem and even health issues that can ensue.
