My home state of texas is famous for the Alamo, cows and ranching. There is alot of citrus groves down south. We have a large coastline on the gulf of mexico which is home to a vast fish and shipping fleet.Let us not forget south padre island where i am from.Tourist central. And of course we have cowboys and cowgirls with a fair share of goat ropers since J. Trovolta
come on bonair, were famous for alot more than that...Jamestown, home of stonewall jackson..monticello..pocahontas..Thomas Jefferson...Cyrus McCormick...George Washington..Richmond, the capitol of the confederacy..appomattox...moonshine capitol of the world is here...the list goes on and on.
I come from the Land Of Lincoln and everybody knows who Abraham Lincoln is and what he was and did and when. I guess it has a famous city too, Chicago. I grew up in Sycamore, IL and that is in DeKalb County.
That's easy. People think that in Maine we all eat lobster constantly. And that moose are in everyones backyard. The truth is our real claim to fame should be lumber - lots of log trucks rolling day and night. And tourism because the coast is really beautiful.

Being from Ontario, Canada leaves me quite a few things. For starters there's the C.N. Tower (worlds tallest free standing structure), Niagara Falls (the honeymoon capital), Wasaga Beach (the worlds longest fresh water beach), Birth Place of Alexander Bell (we all know what he invented), also Wayne Gretsky (mr. hockey comes from the same city as mr. Bell), and many other hockey greats such as Bobby Orr, and lets not forget musical talent such as Gordon Lightfoot, Shania Twain, and Honeymoon Suite to name a few.
