yes...you know the most disturbing and frightening aspects of our lives are that we refuse to believe that everything changes in this world..nothing remains stagnat. And yet, whatever we do or think, we do so with the assumption that things will remain the same always.

mnowsa: i couldn't have said it any better, jac! i mean how can we be so naive to create our own superficial 'realities' by ignoring the more apparent realities around us!
I think, certainly round here, its because we have so many conflicting issues and we each prioritise them.
I once had a customer who first went on and on about about having to get her walls replastered because they were bumpy and having to spend £2,000 on her dining room suite and how sad she felt at having to downgrade her rather flashy sports car because she just had to get her bathroom suite changed because it lowered the tone of the rest of her house.
And then she stood in my workshop bad mouthing single mums who get benefits, or tax credits ("Oh. Women like me, you mean?" I said. ) and how she was properly married, but didn't know if she could afford to have a baby, but she was being responsible unlike them.
I imagine this customer has been abroad many times and knows far more than I do about the world.
But she was really pleased that she'd got her dress off the internet from China for so little money.
The seams were so wonky, I swear it had been made by a child.
