You cant go wrong with this one.............easy and absolutely delicious........This is a traditional caramel pudding cake, Quebecer style, the best of all. Easy and very delicious.
One of my favourites growing up as a French Canadian.
Preheat oven to 350F
Cake Mix:
1 1/3 cups of flour
¾ cups of sugar
3 tsp of baking powder
½ tsp of salt
Mix above ingredients together
¾ cups of milk
¼ cup of butter/margarine
1 egg
Add the milk, butter and egg to the center of the mix until it is moist, with a spoon not a mixer. When putting this mixture in the baking dish, do not spread it.
For your sauce you will need:
2 cups of brown sugar
1 ½ cups of boiling water
2 tbs of butter/margarine
1 tsp of vanilla extract
In a pot, melt all above ingredients together without boiling it, then spread the mixture on top of the cake mix in the baking dish.
Bake for at least 45 minutes and then serve hot with whipping cream or ice cream, or alone.
