GalwayGuy35: My father was 57 when i was born. I think that was too old as we were a totally different generation and had very different views on life.

you have your kids young and have completely dif opinions Its the physical side of running around after them all the time that would put me off

I don't think it'll be too late if you don't have any by the time you're 40. The reason you and your dad were so different was maybe because he was raised in a different culture from you, a different Ireland. My dad was 40 when I was born and was very different from me, not because of the age gap itself but because he was raised in a different type of society. That wouldn't happen so much any more as Ireland has changed for everyone.

I have 4 adult kids and 5 grandkids !!

I love them all very much but I am still not taking the barbed wire down from around the house. If I was to get back all the money I LOANED them over the years I would be loaded now !

MOSTY: HI FOLKS, IF YOU ARE 30 YEARS AND OVER AND STILL LOOKING FOR THE FIRST CHILD, HOW WOULD YOU FEEL?

they say the ideal time to have children is mid-late 20's most are likely to have finished education and some finances in order etc but truthfully when the time fits if that makes sense. I have little or no interest in having children though I love them dearly (well my nieces and nephews) but I literally do not have any maternal instinct at all dunno that may change who knows but I'm not driven by it who knows I'll never say never! As someone once said to me ''you'll hate everyone else kids but love your own'' laugh
