To be selfless ......and sacrifice.......could you do it? ( Archived) (14)

The other day one of my friends blew me away telling me a story about herself that made me realise why i am friends with her.

She told me that she fell out with one of her friends whom she had been close to for years but the friend betrayed her with something that was unforgivable and so the distance between the friendship began............... and they did not call each other for months!!

Then one day as my friend was hurrying to the shops she was stopped by an old gypy women in the street who read her palm and said to her that someone who betrayed would need her help very soon. She did consider could the woman be talking about the friend she had lost touch with and thought i dont care...............she hurt me too much and what she did was unforgivable.

A couple of weeks later my friends received a call from her friend's hubbie and he said to come quick as his wife was very ill and that she was too proud to call my friend. My friend rushed to her bedside to find that indeed she was very ill and lost one of her kyneys with the other one on its way also out the door.

My friend took her friend's hand and looked her in the eye and said when do you need my kyndey?? Let them operate immediately if we are compatable! They are in the process of getting it all organised as we speak.

I know of the betrayment and i know of my friend's pain due to it and i looked at her in the eye and thought you truly are a special person and it is a great honour to know you............

It made me wonder how compassionate the human race still can be and how caring and love can sometimes truly conquer all for this to me was a true act of SELFLISNESS.

I've done it my daughter's entire life. You have to be selfless and sacrifice if you want to raise your children right. It's not hard to do when you know the outcome is so wonderful.

Thats great. But love is love. Deep friendship love is the best.
I have tried to get on lists, but am not allowed because I have had cancer and septicemia.
I wanted to carry a child for my little sister, she has never been able to have a child. Then again, I have issues that aren't safe to take a chance to transfer. I imagine that there are many people that given the chance would do selfless acts such as your friend. I am so glad you have a friend such as this.

Selfless and sacrifice are both hard to find in these times.

We live in an instant self gratification world and most people, do not care about anyone or anything but themselves.






Only recently, a group of Amish children were slain.




One of the kids offered to go first in hopes of keeping the assailant from harming the others.

That is sacrifice.

lvslove you know what i am so glad i have her as a friend too. She is a little angel and i think we all are in our own ways but sometimes forget that we have wings .................

Wow Catwm...........this just shows that if shown the act of selfnesness from an early age we can all be capable of achieving it if we so desire to and for a young child to do this shows how he was brought up and the spirit he must have had. I believe that we are all here for a purpose and the fact that you even mentioned this in the thread to me says that the childs short life even though with a harsh ending proves that maybe good is to come from it if only people could see.......................or think about it just like you did...........so thankyou for that!
