I wouldn't "butter" anyone up...I'd be my usual self and I hope they would be the same...if we gel......then all well and good.

I don't think age matters, so, be yourself, why start off trying to be someone else? They will just expect "someone else" every time you get together. Relationships are based on trust, right? Then trust in yourself and your abilities to laugh, joke, smile and be you.

Alcohol in moderation is fine, but probably shouldn't be in the equation, purely because some people can't handle it and become complete pillocks... Especially when they are on their 3rd or 4th or 10th glass...roll eyes Point is, it turns us all into "someone else", so perhaps keep it to a minimum smile

This, is just my oppinion.

That I understand...But what about when kids get thrown into the mix...

Hypo type Q...What if you are really like each other but one or some of the kids just don't get along either with your new BF-GF or their kids..Would you call it a day because Junior throws tantrums...?

Good point, I haven't gotten to that stage yet... If it's meant to be, it will be.

Kids don't always like it when things don't go their way and sometimes parents/adults have to be firm and say "tough, this is how it is". We adapt, kids and adults alike.

I hate kids, could not eat a whole one in one sitting!
I do wonder was all this Hyper stuff around when I was younger never heard a thing about it then.
No special treatment for any kid.
Cannot remember tantrums, yikes with my Dad about!
Oh well I am not one to speak of kids as thankfully have none!conversing

P, this isnt a hypothetical type of Q, it is a reality one. It is also, ot could be a very difficult one as well. Both partners have to work on it if they really think enough of each other. Not only that, but the new partner has to consider the juniors as well as considering the partner. Difficult Q which cant be answered on a general nature but only according to each and every situation. To use your catchphrase, Trust me it can be done.

How about being open about yourself, normal, your situation in life etc. "Buttering" is only good for knee tremblers round the back of the trash skip.

Long Haul - - totally different kettle of fish, take off the pink sunglasses/green beards, put yer cards/balls on the table fella, it can be embarr-arsing or even uncomfortable, let her decide its the only way to go.

50's something is the same ball park I guess. Normally the kids are grown up by then and probably more protective about their moms.
