I wonder if its as hard for a lady that smokes to find a date as it is for a man that smokes. I know that alot of people are into not smoking or being around people that do smoke but some of us enjoy a cigarette, cigar or even a pipe after a mean and with a drink. What have some of you out there encountered?

Smoking is just plain disgusting. It stinks. Kissing a smoker is gross. A kiss should taste sweet, not like the bottom of a wet ashtray.
That's why I won't date a smoker.

Ok but my question was not answered. We all have our likes and dislikes.

OK but again the question was not answered. And now another question, what is one doing licking or kissing a wet ashtry? I would never do that. I have kissed women that smoked and they never tasted like something I have never done before. Like taste an ashtry. So how can you compare a kiss from someone who smokes to the taste of an asktray unless you have tasted an ashtry? LMAO

Have you ever smelled a wet ashtray? It smells so bad you can taste it.
And no, I do not go around smelling ashtrays.

I never have used that phrase. I watch what I say cos it will always come back and bite you in the butt.

Now I am not saying that I smoke, I am just asking a question to carry a conversation with members. Dont get all up tight. Gosh!!!

Yes I believe it is. I know most of the people I have gone out with do not like it but they want to meet anyway and at the end of the day it is an issue. I personally would like to meet someone who smokes or someone who will encourage me to quit as I know it would be the best thing to quit smoking. I think if I met the right person who motivated me I would be very open to quiting but in the meantime I find it relaxing and since I am not in a relationship at the moment it satisfies me.handshake

Thank you for your input. I appreciate the comment, not like the other comments that have been posted. I feel the same way as you do. With the right person and the right kind of motivation I think quiting can be achieved. Even cutting back on smoking is OK if both people smoke. Like you I enjoy a cigarette and it is relaxing. Thank you again for the comment.

@ Gotrance: without getting in to a debate on needing or not needing a drug to relax, there are so many things out there that could be your drug to relax. Everyone has a "drug", maybe I think instead of calling it a drug which I get it, you could also use it as a "form" to relax. Therefore your form to relax is something you might enjoy, maybe a good massage or reading a good book, taking a walk.....I think you get my point. Believe me I understand smoking is not good for you, I agree it is now more than ever socially unacceptable.

Smoking is repulsive to lots of people, me for one. Not only does it stink, and is very unhealthy, I question the intelligence of anyone that does. It's a proven fact that it causes all sorts of problems, not only for the smoker but the people around him/her, why would an intelligent person smoke? As to finding someone that might change, some guys I know,as well as myself, won't consider dating a smoker.

You do know that nicotine is a drug.
That is what I was referring to.

@GoTrance: yes I know but you are right I did not take it that way, but as I said I know I smoke becuase it relaxes me. Nicotine is a psychological addictive (google it). It is far better than using drugs. I surrender did not think I would be seeming to defend smoking lol. dunno

You got me started.
What is relaxing you is the DRUG nicotine. So, technically, you are a drug user. You rely on nicotine to relax you.
Same can be said for people that drink to relax.
Alcohol is a drug that can kill you in just a few hours.Very addictive.
Marijuana is a drug. Far less dangerous and non-addictive.

I won't date a smoker unless she is genuinaly trying to quit. The last one I dated took 3 days to get her aftertaste out of my mouth and 4 weeks to get her sent out of my truck. So I would think yes, it is very hard for a woman who smokes to find a date unless she goes after a man who smokes as well. Then they can stink together

Yes, absolutely it can be achieved. My cousin and his wife smoked for years and just a few short years ago both quit together.

GoTrance, don't tell me marijuana is non-addictive. My now ex-step dad was so addicted to it that he placed it over job then family. Most of my childhood is a mess because of it. Those are years that can never be redone
