I know damned well you don't drink more than Germans, Russians and probably even the bloody English and yet you managed to cultivate the stereotype that you were pub loving party animals that could drink the rest of lightweights from other countries under the table.

Damn was I disappointed when I visited Ireland. :( I mean, you're all very nice people from everything I could tell but the drunken parties we have here to celebrate St. Patrick's day cause us furreners to feel a little let down when we travel to the Emerald Isles. So who's your PR agent, anyway?

Its a stereotype, just the same as all Americans go around carrying guns and shoot anything that moves, and as the English are snobby and all go to tea with the Queen once a week.wine

It's just a convenient stereotype. It's easier to blame being useless on being drunk.

Reminds me of the story about the two English blokes in an Irish pub looking for some fun... One walked over to an Irishman drinking a mug of Guiness and said.... "Did you know that St. Patrick was an Englishman?"

The Irishman looked up and replied... "You don't say?!".

The bloke goes back to his buddy and said, "not even the raise of an eyebrow from that one". His buddy replied... I'll get him.

So he walked over and said... "Bet you didn't know St. Patrick was a nancy boy, did you?".

And the Irishman replied... "Right... that's what your friend was just telling me.".

And they've got some mighty interesting accents. I have a theory about that... kids learn how to talk from their parents. So even the kids sound like they've got no teeth.
