Yes if the persons personality doesnt match up to the outside we can start to lose that attraction but it doesnt rule out the fact that we have to like the look of someone initially.

People judge on first sight. Never mind at a first date.
There has to be something physical that attracts one to another... height, smile, twinkle in the eye, or even a smell. Otherwise we wouldn't be captured/drawn in by the other person enough to make an approach.
