I'm 21 and I spend my time listening to The Eagles, The Smiths, The Animals, The Cure, The Clash and Stiff little fingers and the likes!
Music these day's is no where near as good as the older stuff.

I was born after my time blues
I would have been a good punk rocker innocent

ya hit da nail on the head there, like there was plenty of rubbish bands nd music in the 60's 70's n 80's too just look at some of the old compelation albums, but its only the classic bands that are still being played today where as the trash has thankfully been forgoten about dancing

Nowadays there's a lot of reality television music shows were the winner is guaranteed the Christmas No 1. Those winners have a guaranteed fanbase and short shelflife. They cover a popular song so it sells well, and makes lots of money.

Except of course...when the machine is beaten

today it's more important to have good dance moves and be able to dance in unison . When I see bands with 4 or 5 members and no one plays an instrument I despair . What happened to lead guitar , base guitar , drums and keyboards and lead singer dunno

Music nowadays is designed to appear and disappear very quickly. It's a manufactured product designed to generate profit for shareholders of EMI and the like and it's shelf life is very short. Quick turnover and on to the next thing is the name of the game! conversing

That's true.

It used to be the case that for a band to get the UK No 1 they'd have to sell hundred's of thousands of singles, nowadays they get that spot with probably less than a 100k sales
