anyone had personal experience, or know someone who has it? Just found out today, after months of waiting, waiting, waiting, that my 26y.o. son has it. I have done research of course, just wanting to hear from someone who has personal experience.

My aunty had it at 40, died at 43.
Was having fluid drained from her lungs once every 2 months, once a month, every ft/night, once a week, every few days, eventually drowned in the fluid.
The lymph nodes carrying the fluid away slowly went and the fluid had to be drained manually.
Every time the fluid was taken, it was like she was so much worse and the energy levels were sapped.
All case are different and I'm no expert as to the modern techniques used as this was in the 80's and medical science has come a long way since then so don't go by what I've said.
Good luck though and I hope everything works out for your son.thumbs up

there is apparently a 80 - 95% success rate, especially with my son's age group, lot of celebrities have had it, including Delta Goodrum, the guy from Dexter etc etc, was hoping someone on here could give personal experience with chemo treatment etc.

That's a good success rate. Much higher than it was in the 80's. Being young is in his favour too. Life is continually throwing up challenges in our journey. This is just another bump along the road.

Dryad, but telling me I will finally meet my soul mate, surely does not relieve this news about my son does it?

Ive had chemo - I am happy to answer any questions you may have privately - please feel free to PM me at any time. I believe another forum poster here, has had some oncology nursing experience - Im not sure. But I've no doubt if thats the case she will contact you.

there are generally forums for each type of cancer

try - they will likely have people there who are either family or patients, and they will be a wealth of information and support to you.

Contact your states Cancer Council - they are absolutely awesome, and have oncology nurses on the phone to help with problems too.

Your son, is facing something that is most peoples worst nightmare, and although you cant take the ride with him, its an incredible support for him, to know that you are there cheering and encouraging from the sidelines. Some days will be hurdles, and when he cant jump them, your loving hand will lift him over them. teddybear I can only offer you my support, and promise you my prayers, but they are there hug

not necessarily .. no.. but his purpose may be greater than first thought.

My father died of cancer 2009 I tried to get him to try alternate methods to relieve it, to remove it .. 2 days before he died, I begged him to see a doctor or try what I asked or he would be dead by weeks end for I had seen it ..Life was more important and he went off to play bowls as he always did, died on the way home .. so too was conventional methods ..set in our ways our beliefs which we are entitled to ..

Another I know was diagnosed with stomach cancer with 6 months to live.. by using an alternate to chemo she survived and the cancer disappeared baffling doctors. Another with Lupus cancer tried what I asked her to and she also survived many years more than the 12 months conventional doctor has given her..

I never claimed to have a cure but there are alternates that work.. research and forming an opinion all on ones own though at those alternate is always a good thing to do..

and if most looked into what has been hidden from humanity from governments and medical companies regarding natural alternates that GOD planted for a reason they could also form an opinion of their own..
