Ok everyone sorry if I was snappy in the other post .
what a day .I enjoyed my day at work which isnt normal for me.lmao
Left when my shift finished at 3pm .was heading home .
And was driving in the centre lane not far from turning right and going home .
When out a side street this Renault comes .all i saw from the corner of my eye was grey then slow motion when he hit me.
Got out my car somehow kept my cool didnt swear at this guy .He was saying sorry sorry over and over and i'm so tired .And I'm saying how didnt u see me .I'm in the centre lane u had cross another lane of traffic to hit me !!
His car came off worse impact damage.Somehow we got each otehrs details and the firebrigade turned up after i pull off to the side of the road .
Fireman told me to call a tow truck so i did .other guy was going no wait wait my insurance will cover u.
So end of day my AU falcon with passenger front panel head light bumper and door damage didnt look that bad .But as the fireman said u cant see underneath .and the reanualt with no front end left lmao.
I was doing 60 when he hit me he says he was doing 15 or 20 .and he said your car will be a write off .tow truck guy looked at him then me and said his car was a write off and his air bags didnt go off!!
So tow truck gave me a lift home nice guy we have the same surname funny that (never met anyone else with our name). He advised me to call my insurance and advice them what happened .Did that and I knew i added hire car to my insurance didnt realise also had no excess!!
So from 10 tomorrow I'll be driving a hire car fingers crossed my car gets fixed .otherwise I'll need a new second-hand car lol
.
Oh yeah reporting it in the morning had to find a copshop doing it in adelaide pre car pick up.

Glad to hear you are good and no injuries and yes, always a bummer when someone else damages ya car but having insurance, they will sort your car out.

I was shopping other week and came out my car and some arsehole couldn't park and left a big dent in the side of my car and did a runner mumbling I had insurance but wasnt worth losing my no claims bonus so just it fixed myself (few hundred later) as didn't have details of other driver.

Some of us are good drivers as I have never had an accident, just manage to avoid them laugh but have had close calls rolling on the floor laughing

So many don't claim because they're worried about losing the no claims bonus, why have the insurance if you never make a claim on it? Seems they win no matter what they do.

Yep to everyone I'm ok .heard from my insurance company they will asses the car Tuesday.I went down and collected a couple of things from my car this afternoon .And the repairs said I was very lucky !!

Well I would urge everyone to check your auto insurance policy. In the past I was caught with a no windscreen replacement clause.since then I have always got that included .Also updated mine a few months back to include a hire car .Somehow I had a no excess policy that was just luck.
So apart from the $500 bond(returnable) on the hire car not costing me anything .And with the hire car I can still get to work the next two weeks .
Once again check what your covered for they don't ask about windscreens unless u do(don't assume your covered I wasn't).And the hire car was a small amount $$ extra a month.

cheers
And I was lucky not to get hurt
