Fluids...? dunno

Could just be that you've upped your fluid intake and are flushing out the badness.

I get those zits too from time to time, no pattern to the breakouts so it's not hormonal. 'Cystic acne' apparently.

I unfortunately have a condition called keratosis pilaris only figured out what it was a year or so ago and there's no known cure just lots of water, exfoliation and moisurising A LOT but we all have our crosses to bear..........just nice to hear someone catching a break from theirs now and again teddybear

Well as far as I know drinking milk is good for you because of the calcium and all of the other vitamins it has but it doesnt matter how much milk you drink if you dont have vitamin D which is used to absorb these vitamins. And as we all know vitamin D is gotten from the sun so with the sun being out in force lately it has aided in your absorbency of these vitamins. And even if you leave out the milk vitamin D is great for the skin and all its ailments anyhow thats why people with skin tags and such are given the suggestion to use sun beds.

Just reading an article there on acne and the main cause of acne in adults is stress ... the main cause of acne in teenagers is hormones ...

Stress causes comedomes to break up, which can then get inflammed and infected, developing into spots and pimples, the symptoms of acne!!!

HIYA! the sun doesn't give you vitamin d. vitamin d comes from foods like milk. however the sun is needed to convert vitamin d into a form that the body can use. i don't know the exact chemical process but the sun just converts the vitamin d. it doesn't supply it..intersting thing is i NEVER SEE THE SUN laugh i work nights and im a night owl im the same color as the guy from twilight...well more like a fat brother of his laugh

Approx 80-90 % of our Vit D comes from exposure to sunlight which converts cholesterol in our skin to Vitamin D3.

Bear in mind that a pint of milk only contains 10% of what you get from any exposure to sun.

Also may i suggest that too much milk can cause mucous issues and from a medical point of view milk is not something which causes acne, just be careful on drinking too much milk, with you bulking up, too much may lead to respiratory problems. Little and often maybe.

the sun does not necessarily need to be beating out to pick up the UV rays, but I can almost guarantee you it is not the milk that is aiding you acne.

I would recommend that you take a fish supplement and zinc as you are increasing the fat content in your diet, and both of the former will help internally with future acne breakouts.

Keep an eye on insulin levels also, cause all this gomad stuff will make your insulin peak a lot, that in itself will take toll internally, but that is another whole different discussion.

Just take care.

Lets deal with zinc first for someone of your build of body:

Some studies suggest that zinc helps to govern the metabolisim of testosterone in the prostate. By not having zinc daily one could possibly have a causal link to prostate cancer in later life.

Also, zinc helps regulate glucose levels, and with drinking that gomad stuff, your insulin levels are peaking highly, zinc would help with that.

Recent medical nutritional reports suggest that zinc is useful as an anti-inflammatory internally, as acne is by fact an inflammatory response, maybe zinc deficiency may be a contributory factore with acne breakout.

May i suggest that you SHOULD be taking zinc daily
EU RDA: 15mg/day

Foods With Zinc

Oysters x 1 = 7.5mg
Roast chicken leg = 2.7mg
1/2 cup baked beans = 1.7mg
1 oz Dry roasted almonds = 1.0mg

loads more, you can check books or scientific sites on web, but even if you take a supplement, you should take it DAILY.

That was like a consultation....... wrecked now!

It could have been a hormonal imbalance. I know this is usually attributed to girls only but men have hormones too! laugh I had a hormonal imbalance an few years ago resulting in cysts developing in my breasts. i was advised to stay off milk as nowadays cows are pumped full of hormones which are then transfered to us through the creamy white stuff. Staying off milk has worked for me but maybe an increase in certain hormones through milk has helped balance yours out. dunno confused Anyway, ENJOY!!!
