Liebe2: I don't think you can-you do seem to have a conscience and do not hide behind a faceless profile and throw insults at everyone that comes your way. Besides, you are too shy to even say "Hello" when you run into people at the supermarket
OUCH! That happens when I'm not sure if I really know that person even if the face looks familiar . . .
SummerUK: I feel guilty now for being mean to you yesterday when I was having a hormonal meltdown
I am sorry and I hope you do find someone and I don't blame you for wanting to be in any of the coutries that you mentioned either..
Good luck hon
Hi Summer.....Like you did in your post, I have used the word "hon" quite often in the forums. I like using the word because I want to show fondness to the person I am responding to but I have been told it's not a good idea to use words of endearment in an international forum. I don't know why. I would think most people like it when someone shows fondness towards them.
Here we are telling him not to use the word "dear" but we turn around and use words of endearment on him.
I'm not trashing you Summer. Your post was the perfect example of a point I wanted to make.

I think we tend to use terms of endearment with people that we did have some kind of initial contact by posting to on the forums. Things are however different when you adress that way in a message to someone you have no previous contact with. JMO

Hey Monte Well I didn't actually say anything about him using the word dear.. lol
I was apologising for being completely unreasonable yesterday.. It happens when I have an unexpected episode of PMS
I agree with you completely, I like it when people use lil pet names and I don't reserve them only for people I know.
I use them in real life so why stop here? I'm a naturally warm affectionate person (apart from PMS meltdown ) so Sometimes its nice to use lil terms of endearment too so the other person knows you are being sincere. I don't care what other people say lol

Good point Liebe. I've never responded to Zeb's threads because I'm not sure if he's playing a game to get people riled up. Giving him the benefit of doubt that he really wants advice, if someone on here hasn't had contact with him before, then why would that person post a term of endearment towards him. The respect has to work both ways.
I'm uncomfortable using Summer's post. She doesn't have a mean bone in her body, it's just her post that is my example.

I agree with you completely hon When the clerk in the supermarket gives me my change I might say, thanks hon. When I'm talking to my insurance rep, to end the call I might say thanks hon. It's just a nice way of saying, thanks for your help, or as in some cases on here, trying to comfort someone....

Not to long ago Boban was in a thread I wrote and he posted something other then the subject. He wrote....I hope I haven't hijacked the thread. I respond.....no you haven't honey. After I posted it I thought maybe I shouldn't have done that but I wanted him to know that I didn't care that he went off subject. I didn't use the word as if I said it towards a b/f, I just wanted him to know it was okay...

drbombay: I was also lambasted for using dear which I really meant no offense but learned a lesson....
I think sometimes some people have too much of an ego. Not because of being arrogant but through self protection but they take it too far.. I'm not judging them though.. I dunno what they have been through
If you called me Dear I'd probably just do this .... and then tell you I prefer 'Babe'

Its just a little old fashioned nowadays thats all and some people do use it in a condescending way so its not the most popular word to use but you weren't to know that..
Refering again to my post above though Please don't start calling anyone 'babe' either or you'll surely get into more trouble
