EagleWoman: I forgot to say I like most accents ...
Not keen on some of the East of London accents like "war-ah" for water and "ber-er" for butter etc.

My basic accent is Received Pronounciation (dead posh), but I dip into Hampshire (a cross between Cockney and West Country), Welsh Valleys (very sing-songy) and a smattering of German (embarassing, as I don't actually speak the language).
I lived in Cardiff for 7 years, but successfully managed to avoid picking that one up - no mean feat for me, I'm a natural verbal accomodator.
silkychica: ok!no.1 do you have an accent? no.2 what accents do you love? no.3 what accents do you hate? and why
I have an accent in every other language other than my native one I do not hate accents, I just don't like them all Some British accents take some getting used to for me, but I spent few hours thinking all those years of studying English were in vain when I met a Scottish couple 5 yrs ago. I smiled the whole time and didn't have a clue what they were saying

I dated a girl from Glasgow many years ago... and sometimes even I found it tough... at the time though I was stationed near Newcastle so that may have had something to do with it...
