I have to get an electric razor for my father as he has been put on medication to thin his blood and Doctors said no more normal wet shaving,, apparently the little cuts you get could be dangerous.
He likes to shave daily and keep a smart appearance. Any advice on what would be a good make and model to get for him?
All or any help will be most appreciated.
Stan.

I'm guessing he's on warfarin or the likes, my dads been on them for years, was never told anything about shaving though, he still wet shaves, uses a Mac3, that doesnt seem to cut as much, if at all.

Stan , sorry to hear of your Dad and needing medication , my dad was also prescribed similar stuff . Tesco recently had an offer on BRAUN 3 Series washable shavers .€40 off the usual price of what I think was €140 . All the best.

In addition to my earlier post my dad always used to wetshave and Godsgift has a good point , your dad's quite likely to go back to the old school method . Also true they don't give as close a shave .

Also give consideration to replacement cutters and foilscreens for electric shavers Stan . handshake

My dad was on warfarin for years and always wet-shaved. He was never told not to. We got him several different types of electric/battery shavers but he hated every one of them.

The only person I've heard of that was told not to wet shave also had parkinsons disease so he had hand tremors which made him more likely to cut himself.

I wouldn't have a clue on electric razors to be honest. But a few years ago my Grandfather was in the same position as your Dad is now - was put on blood thinners and was advised to give up normal shaves for electric ones - he tried it for awhile but ultimately hated it as it wasn't as good as a real shave. He talked to his barber one day about it all when he was getting a hair cut and the barber gave him a stiptic pencil and said he swore by it. The doctor confirmed it ok to use but still said he advised the electric razor. My Grandad's been using them for years now and swears by them and good expensive razors. He says with the good razors (compared to the cheap ones) he rarely gets cuts but the occasional tiny nick does appear and the stiptic pencil takes care of it in seconds. It looks just like a regular pencil (like the golf or argos ones) and it works similar - just "scribble" over the cut with it and it stops the bleeding in seconds. You can do your own research about them as well - just google or head to wiki and it will give you all the info needed.
