I was teasing you Sr. Heinz.
Perhaps, there are people who find your recommendation for retirement appealing.

Any other idea for Sr. OP.

It’s a while to my retirement, but I know that Swedish retirees head to Spain or Greece. Some to French Rivera as well, but France is considered too expensive and requires language knowledge, so it’s not as popular as Spain and Greece. (Just speeding roumors…)

bungallow55: Hi everybody in EU,I'm a retiree looking to move to Europe...I heard about this city in France called Bearn...is a place near the Pyrenees and friendly for retirees people...any suggestion would be appreciated...Thanks

Sr. Bungaallow is looking for a place in Europe and I do not think “San Pancho” is anywhere in Europe. Maybe, Spain from "Sancho Panza" (The Quixote) although not very close to San Pancho.

In Mexico, we do have a San Francisco near Vallarta, better know as “San Pancho” I believe.

You might have good taste after all.

Not only in big cities we are having a terrible time with crime here everywhere, big and small places.

Check the last picture of this thread.
The army is everywhere for protection and this place is a recreational place. uh oh

San Pancho is a very safe and quiet place, no crime, no earthquakes, no hurricanes, nice weather all over the year. Many US and Canadian retirees are living there.

Sorry for the late response Sr. Bungallow but Don Quixote is a masterpiece of Spanish literature. It is a story that has many innovative elements for its time perhaps the first novel, yet quite complex with many persons in it. The most important being Don Quixote and Sancho Panza.

The core of it is the search for “Liberty”

I have read it too and I keep a copy that I browse now and then, more then that now.

The content:
- A critique to other works of literature,

- The search for the ideal love.
“All kinds of beauty do not inspire love; there is a kind which only pleases the sight, but does not captivate the affections. “

- The political correctness.

and

- The ideal of Justice.

Liberty, Sancho, my friend,
IS one of the most precious gifts that Heaven has bestowed on mankind

Great for those retirees.

Myself I do not think I could stay in one place.
Not even in San Pancho.

My nomadic genes have a mind of their own.
– I must be a very primitive specimen- grin
I would love to be moving around.
Perhaps, one year here, another year there.

Spain is beautiful, food is exquisite and living there is less expensive than in other European countries.
BUT
I find the people's manners a bit impolite at times. I know they are not but their voice and expressions "seem" to be.
