I just met a nice man who is six inches shorter--I am 6' tall and he is 5'6". I think we look funny together. I'm a ballroom dancer who competes pro/am with my 6'6" tall Professional Instructor. With this vertically challenged man, I feel like everyone is staring at us when we go out. Slow dances mean I have to bend down and it's hard to keep my balance trying to scrunch like that. Am I being petty? What do you people think? How many women out there date shorter men and vice versa?

I've dated men shorter than me and there was no issue with it -- until we were out in public. Every single guy I've ever dated who was shorter than me treated me like dirt while out in public. Like, going to the nth degree to make sure no one thought we were together. Made me feel like a freaking Amazon woman, and I'm only 5'8. So, I would date a guy shorter than me if he can handle the fact I'm taller.
