After 5 years it seems that people (including myself)are more comfortable with themselves and more selective in who they choose to date. Whereas less than 5 years out of a relationship you are more lonely and willing to find a replacement partner. What do you think?

Completely agree. People begin to accept being single after a certain time & they find it harder to get back into the dating game

Not sure about the amount of years but sure thing is don't involve in a new relationship if you only look for replacement partner.

I agree - the longer you are out of a relationship, you become (well I became) more selfish, a little more uncompromising, and even though I enjoy being with friends and family, I also enjoy my own company.. which is why I responded with I want a man, but I don't need a man!!! and if that makes me shallow so be it ....
